February Athlete of the Month – Stephanie

Tell us about yourself.
Coffee chugging, Jesus loving, CrossFit crushing, LuLaRoe slinging wife and mother of two. I’m a Budget Analyst for the State of Alaska Military and Veterans’ Affairs and I’ve lived in Alaska since 1985.

What made you start CrossFit? What has kept you doing it? Has your motivation changed from when you first started?
I saw a sign on the bathroom door of the armory advertising 907 CrossFit classes. I figured, “why not?” I have continued to do CrossFit because of the community and accountability. 907 CrossFit athletes set the bar high! I look forward to the lunchtime comradery. My motivation and desire to excel continues to grow.  

What is your favorite CrossFit movement, lift, or WOD?
Wall balls and box jumps

Least favorite?
Clean and jerks because I suck at the movement mechanics. Over one year later, and I’m still over here trying to muscle the bar up… /facepalm

What is the one tip you would give someone considering or is new to CrossFit?
ANYONE can do CrossFit. Everything is scalable. You will see changes to your body and mindset you never would have imagined possible. If you have children, get them involved too. My son is crushing it. Puts me to shame!
